A medição precisa do vestuário faz parte da sua qualidade e é muito importante para a produção de vestuário. Medições corretas de aparelhos também podem contribuir para economizar tempo de produção e reduzir custos de produção. Portanto, indústria de fabricação de vestuários bem conhecida tem um departamento de medição de vestuários. We now advise the following guidelines on the best ways to handle an apparel before and while measuring, which are as following:

1. The work top should be a clean, flat, waist-high table and be able to accommodate the full length and width of the apparel. The operator should be standing while measuring. All measurements checking should be using a standard tape measure. Checking tape measure periodically against a steel ruler to determine and confirm its accuracy is first step.
2. Before measuring, You should lay out the apparel flat on the table, free of tension. And you should smooth out all wrinkles and creases. But if it is using a crinkle type fabric, do not smooth out the creases.

4. Apparel measurement of length:

• If binding is with it is to be included in the measurement.

5. The high point shoulder(also called shoulder neck point), is the high point of the shoulder at the natural fold, where the shoulder meets the neckline. 6. When measuring bias cut apparels, hold the apparel from both shoulders (for tops and dresses) or waist (for skirts and trousers). Before measuring, smooth the apparel in an X along the grain lines to stabilize the apparel.
7. When measuring, please do not stretch the fabric. Unless the method of measure description specifies to stretch or extend the fabric eg. a maximum neck stretch measurement.
8. We should take measurements as half or flat measurements unless otherwise indicated in the method of measure description.
9. We should measure padded or filled apparels with the fill compressed as much as possible. Pressing out the air before taking each point of measure.
10. For apparels where the back panel is larger than the front panel or vice versa, ensure to roll side seams to the front (or back) evenly at each side.
