Inspectie van kantstof
Kant is een stof die bestaat uit een decoratief ontwerp gemaakt met draden of garens in een netachtige, achtergrond openen. Bij de inspectie van kantstof moet rekening worden gehouden met zowel de kwaliteit van het decoratieve ontwerp als de achtergrondstof. Decoratief ontwerp moet in goede staat zijn, terwijl de achtergrondstof moet worden vastgezet.
Lace fabric types
Two basic types of lace include Leavers lace and Nottingham lace.
Leavers Lace is het fijne kant dat op de Leavers Lace-machine wordt gemaakt en wordt meestal gebruikt voor kleding.
Lace fabric is decorative ‘openwork’ fabric with sensitive uses of spaces and solids. It is a classic, feminine fabric that looks beautiful in both day and evening wear. But it is usually the finest and most intricate fabric.
Nottingham lace features large designs and rough texture, used frequently for tablecloths.
