How to do Gloves Inspection?
Glove is a sort of protective gear, it is of category 3 according to the risk protection levels. Gloves inspection includes Gloves size measurement and Gloves visual inspection. Below are 3 CE categories.
Category I: Gloves of Simple Design For Minimal Risk Only
Risk Category II: Gloves of Intermediate Design For Intermediate Risk
Category III: Gloves of Complex Design For Irreversible Or Mortal Risk
Hereafter the gloves inspection we mainly refer to gloves of simple design offering protection from low level risks. They belong to Category I, manufacturers are permitted to test and certify gloves internally. There is no requirement for testing and certification by an independent body. However, the visual inspection of gloves inspection is not limited to Category I, Category II and Category III are also suitable.
Glove size measurement-Gloves inspection
Gloves are sized by measuring around the hand at the point where thumb and palm meet. Leather gloves are sized to the nearest quarter-inch; fabric gloves to the nearest half-inch. Typically, women take sizes 5½ to 8 and men 7 to 10.
There are Full Finger Gloves, Half Finger gloves and Med Wiring Gloves.
Full/half Finger Gloves measurement
- Cuff width
Measure straight across cuff from fold to fold.
- Hand/ Palm circumference
Measure around the hand at the point where thumb and palm meet.
- Length from middle finger tip
Measure straight from the tip of middle finger to end of cuff.
- Length from small finger tip
Measure straight from the tip of small finger to end of cuff.
- Thumb length
Measure straight from the tip of thumb to end of thumb
- Index finger length
Measure straight from the tip of index finger to end of index finger.
- Middle finger length
Measure straight from tip of middle finger to end of middle finger
- Ring finger length
Measure straight from tip of ring finer to end of ring finger.
- Little finger length
Measure straight from tip of Little finger to end of little finger.
Med Wiring Gloves measurement
- Length from long full finger tip
Measure straight from the tip of long full finger to end of cuff.
- Length from short full finger tip
Measure straight from the tip of short full finger to end of cuff.
- Hand/ Palm circumference
Measure around the hand at the point where thumb and palm meet.
- Thumb length
Measure straight from the tip of thumb to end of thumb
- Index finger length
Measure straight from the tip of index finger to end of index finger.
