The size measurement check is a very important part of garment inspection. As garments are produced on work line and most of sewing processes are finished or operated by man hands, the dimensions of the same size garment may vary a little bit. Therefore a specified measurement tolerances are(should be) allowed.
Measurement tolerances in garments
These guidelines are widely applied and suggested unless otherwise instructed.
1.Discrepancies beyond tolerances are reported separately.
2.The measurements and tolerances are single(not the circumferences) which means, if you measure the circumferences, the tolerances are double.
3.These detailed measuring guidelines are for the major garment categories. However, it can be extended to most items made of fabrics such as bags, caps, umbrellas. These guidelines have to be followed unless the buyer has sent different instructions.
