Fabric Checking to Mideast and North Africa

In Mideast and North Africa, there are some of factors which cause fabric to fade, what are they and how to make fabric checking to these countries?

Considering Factors when do fabric checking

  1. Mideast or North Africa has strong sunshine than the other parts of the world, this is the main reason. therefore a light fastness grading of better than 5 would be required for all fabrics, which are expected to maintain their colour for the life of the garment.
  2. In some countries in Mideast or North Africa, it is commonplace to add hypochlorite to the water supply as a disinfectant. The amount varies but in some countries we know it is enough to cause bleaching of textile materials in a single wash. The effect is of course cumulative and could cause severe fading over time even at lower levels. Evaluate the colorfastness to Chlorine bleaching.
  3. The atmosphere in busy city streets in such countries may contain dust which is abrasive and could damage sensitive areas of the garment such as the reflective parts and become ingrained in the nylon filaments of the main fabrics causing discolouration.
  4. Laundry practices in North Africa – particularly the poorer communities, may not be what we are familiar with. For example, some people may beat with a rod.fabric checking
